Stocksdale Named to Peoples Bank Board
Gregory F. Stocksdale brings his local business experience to Peoples
Gregory F. Stocksdale of Urbana was recently named to the Board of Directors of The Peoples Savings Bank according to Peoples Chairman Dr. Charles Wingfield.
Stocksdale is President of Stocksdale Insurance – an Urbana agency specializing in health insurance. He has been with Stocksdale insurance since 1986.
Wingfield said, “Greg brings a wealth of local knowledge and business experience with him to this position. His community involvement is a real complement to our locally based, community Bank."
Stocksdale is a past member of the Urbana Rotary Club, a past Cub and Pack Master for the Boy Scouts, spent twenty years on the Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Services Board as both Vice Chair and Chairman, is on the Champaign County Health Care Council, and the Urbana University Foundation Board. He is a member of the Champaign County Arts Council, and the Champaign and the Logan County’s Chamber of Commerce.
Wingfield added, “As a local bank, we obviously have a vested interest in Urbana and Champaign County. Mr. Stockdale’s presence on the Board only validates that commitment."
Mr. Stocksdale attended Mercersburg Academy and graduated from Urbana High School. He is a member of the Executive Council of New York Life and has received numerous Company awards. He replaces Albert C. Schafer who recently resigned after thirty-two years of service to Peoples. Stocksdale joins other board members Wingfield, Harley Davidson, Allen O. Kinzer, and Brice Kadel.
